坂町事件（さかまちじけん）

1946年9月22日に、新潟県岩船郡保内村（現・村上市）で発生した事件。

On September 22, 1946, a case that occurred in Hounai-mura, Iwafune-gun, Niigata Prefecture (now Murakami City).

終戦直後より在日朝鮮人や在日中国人は、取締権限の不明確さに乗じて公然と日本の法律を無視し、食糧管理法に反するヤミ米の流通・販売などの経済統制違反を繰り返していた。

Since the end of the war, Koreans in Japan and Chinese in Japan have publicly ignored Japan's laws taking advantage of the unclear power of regulatory authority, and have repeated violations of economic control such as distribution and sales of rice that violates the Food Control Law.

新潟県北部では、在日本朝鮮人連盟が新発田市に事務所を置いた。

In the northern part of Niigata Prefecture, the Japan-Korean Federation of Koreans set up an office in Shibata.

羽越本線坂町駅を中継基地として、ヤミ米を関西方面に出荷していた。

black-market rice sent to Kansai area with Uetsu Main Line Sakamachi Station as a relay base.

当時、1日あたり50俵が坂町駅を経由したといわれている。

At that time, it is said that 50 straw rice-bags per day went through Sakamachi Station.

1946年9月22日午前0時50分頃、村上警察署の署員8人が坂町駅に赴き、ヤミ米の取締に当たった。

At around 0:50 am on September 22, 1946, eight police officers at the Murakami Police Station went to Sakamachi Station and performed the control of black-market rice.

署員が現れるや、約50人の朝鮮人・中国人は一斉に姿をかくした。

About 50 Koreans and Chinese hid at the same time as police officers appeared.

警察官がホーム上に置き去りにされたヤミ米を押収しようとすると、「殴れ！」「叩け！」の叫び声を合図に襲いかかって来た。

When a police officer tries to seize Yami rice left on home, they attacked shouting "hit them", "neat them".

警察官が応戦している最中に列車が到着し、列車内から朝鮮人20人が下車した。

A train arrived while police officers responded, and 20 Koreans got off the train.

彼らも警察官に暴行を加えた後、発車間際の列車に乗り込み逃走した。

They also attacked police officers and then got on the train and escaped.

この日の午後になり、「また、ヤミ米を運搬しようとしている」との情報が入った。

In the afternoon of this day, the information that "Koreans are going to transport black-market rice" reported.

警察官 10人が現場に向かい取り締まろうとしたところ、約50人の朝鮮人・中国人が襲い掛かり、殴る蹴るの暴行を加えた。

When 10 police officers tried to go to the scene, about 50 Koreans and Chinese attacked and added a knocking and a kicking assault.

金屋村警防団は警察官の応援に駆けつけたが、逆に鳶口や木刀を取り上げられて、彼等の武器にされる始末であった。

The Kanayamura volunteer guards rushed to support the police officers.

But they were robbed a fire hook and a wooden sword and used as Koreans weapon.

その後、撤退命令が出たので、警察官等は一旦引き上げた。

After that, there was an order to withdraw, so police officers, etc. once pulled up.

その後、進駐軍の新潟軍政部の係官が現地に到着した。

After that, an officer of the stationed Niigata military administration arrived at the site.

朝鮮人・中国人に対して「日本に在住している限り、日本の法律に服さなければならないこと」、「警察官のヤミ米取締を拒むことは、連合国の指令に反するものであること」を言い渡した。

They ordered to Koreans and Chinese "To obey Japanese law as long as you live in Japan" "To refuse police control of black-market rice is contrary to the Allied Directive "

軍政部のお墨付きが出たことで、警察は断固とした取締りが可能になり、12人が検挙された。

The military administration's sanctions made it possible for the police to resolutely control, and 12 people were arrested.

検挙された12人は新潟軍政部に移された。

The 12 men arrested were transferred to the Niigata military administration.

取り調べを受けたが、新潟県外への追放とヤミ米の買出しをしない旨の誓約書提出だけで全員釈放された。

They were interrogated, but all were released only by the submission of a written pledge stating that they would not be expelled from Niigata Prefecture and not buy black-market rice.

またこの事件を報じた報道機関が、朝鮮人に破壊活動を受ける新潟日報社襲撃事件へと発展した。

In addition, the media that reported this incident developed into the Niigata Nippo company raid incident that was subjected to destruction by Koreans.
